How do I fit Fibreglass Front Wings?

#1 Post by Edin Dundee »

Please?

This is what I have - and a pattern fibreglass wing to go on, it's not a club panel.
Can anyone post or send me detailed pictures of how to go about fixing a grp wing to this?
Thanks in advance.

Tiger seal is good, actually really good stuff but Make sure the metal is clean or you could use Rivnuts or speed bolts personally I would use tigerseal but please do wear gloves.

Dan has the right of it with Tiger Seal, but I also used a number of those self drilling self tapping bolts to get the fit and position correct. Then when I was happy with the fit, I removed the wing, put a good quantity of Tiger seal on all the joining flanges and refitted the wing with the bolts which then hold it secured while the Tiger seal sets. Once its all dried in place, you can, if you want, remove the screws and fill up the holes but I didn't bother, since they don't do any harm and I'm a belt and braces sort of guy!

I'll take some pics of how mine looks done, there aren't many of it in progress and none detailed. There may be some about of Aluns White Sprint which we did at the NEC restoration show, I didn't take any myself.....I was too busy doing it!
