Re: Why wouldn't a seller get an MOT?
An MoT Certificate does not cover you as 'roadworthy' either.
Re: Why wouldn't a seller get an MOT?
You can go to any mot station as long as it's prebooked and they have your registration
Re: Why wouldn't a seller get an MOT?
I think you will find it has to be the closest MOT station to you, IE you cant buy a car in Scotland and drive it to London for an MOT
Re: Why wouldn't a seller get an MOT?
you are obliged to use the shortest route to your chosen mot center, and not use the trip as an opportunity to do shopping or pop to the bank
so reasonably if the car is legitimately on the road to travel 50meters on the road, then its just as acceptable to travel as far as the car is capable with need to stop for fuel there and back ,including motorways, tunnels, mountain pass's
as long as the insurance is not voided by the lack of tax (which most short term insurance providers specifically stipulate) or mot and the booking is officially done to provide a record of intention then it really doesn't matter how far you travel
its the joys of a free private sector market ,we have the allowance of choice
my personal furthest was 110miles which included even a breakdown on the A1 and the presence of 2 of ANPR traps!

You could try that defence in front of a magistrate, but I wouldn't recommend it!
