Radiator dimensions ?

#1 Post by lwalton »

Hi can anyone who has access to a sprint radiator please post the dimensions with the outlet positions and sizes as I am having a aluminium rad made at a company near me and I cannot find my original rad from my sprint to take to them for a template. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks lee

Here is a quick text description of my one in CWL. I was interested to note it still has the Serck-Marston I.D. on it after all these years.
* Top left outlet 1.25 in dia and 1.32 in over the hose flange. 1.30 inches long.
* Top right outlet 0.75 in dia, and 0.80 in over the hose flange. 1 3/8 long.
* Bottom right outlet 1.25 in dia and 1.32 in over the hose flange. 2 5/8 in long.
* Left to right overall width over the brackets 20 5/8 in.
* Top to bottom 12 7/8 in
* Thickness 2 1/4 in over the brackets.
* Now the complex bit. The top left outlet has its centres 1.25 in from the top and 1.25 in from the left side.
* Centre to centre dimension of top left outlet and top right outlet is 18.5 in .
But they are not in line horizontally.
The top right outlet centre is 0.75 in from the top and 7/8 in from the RHS.
The top right to bottom right centre is 11.25 in.
The bottom right outlet centre is 1.25 in from the bottom and 7/8in from the RHS.
As a check the top left outlet centre diagonally to the bottom right outlet centre is 21 5/8 in.
I'll try and annotate a photo later.
HTH,
Tony.

Would it be possible to post up the details of the company (and the price!) once you've had it done? I really need a new radiator for my sprint but the local(ish) guy who does them has closed up his shop.

Why don't use the extra space for a slightly bigger rad when having one made. At that time i did bring a cutt off front to the rad shop and had one made that did fit in the useable space to have more surface. It would probably don't cost more or a little bit for a bigger core. The laibour will be the same.
