Turbo Pickers
Did anybody notice the clip of a Triumph 1300 FWD 2-door on Discovery's Turbo Pickers this evening? I didn't know such a car existed.

Re: Turbo Pickers
Triumph did experiement with a 2 door car when the 1300fwd was being developed which is not surprising as it was originally going to replace the Herald. There was no offcial 2 door 1300 but somebody could've grafted a 1300 front end on a 2 door Toledo. I know that somebody had grafted a Toledo front end on a 1300 because the car was documented in the 1300 Register newsletter.

Re: Turbo Pickers
It was a very short black and white clip, and looked like a period bit of film. I wonder where the filming company found it!

Re: Turbo Pickers
Watched this show this evening - not bad at all.
The car in question in this topic has been discussed before, the same footage can be seen in the film "This is Triumph" which is now on Youtube.
As you can see from these images, it bears a resemblance to the T1300 front but is believed to be a Toledo mule, as a white car with rounded front end can be seen in some early Toledo technical publications photos. That is all that is known about it I believe.

Yes, that is technically a Toledo, the early Toledo hand book shows under bonnet pictures of this car.
I can only assume they were trying to get away with using the same bonnet pressing, but later decided to go a different way
