Re: Lost Keys,
Glove box / boot are easy, the number is written on the back of the lock... The rest I don't know. I'm pretty sure I could use a teaspoon handle on mine though.

Re: Lost Keys,
The best thing to do would be to get them found. I can honestly say that I never lost the keys to any of my Triumphs even when I had a fleet of them.
Keep on looking and they will turn up.

Re: Lost Keys,
If there original, BMIHT did tell me my key numbers for a fax of the V5 as proof of ownership. There were then still BL garages who could cut a key from the number - my keys must have been 3rd/4th generation by then. But whether any of that still applies, I don't know. I guess someone somewhere must have one of the key cutters.

The 16v Slant 4 engine is more fun than the 3.5 V8, because you mostly drive it on the upslope of the torque curve.

Re: Lost Keys,
Was it still a one key car?
If so the number should be on the nearside passenger door lock for the ignition key.
The boot key will match the glovebox lid as has been said.

Re: Lost Keys,
Slight diversion of the topic, but does anyone know where you can get a copy of an ignition key made? The two keycutters I tried couldn't find a blank key that matched to make a copy.
Re: Lost Keys,
I did see a couple of blank keys come up on ebay a couple of times in the last month might be worth a quick look to see if still on there or just keep an eye in case they pop back up.cleverusername wrote:Slight diversion of the topic, but does anyone know where you can get a copy of an ignition key made? Re: Lost Keys,
I have had some keys copied in the past by a local lock smith and he used Silca blank types CEM2 & UNI19 for the door /ignition locks and Silca blank UNI11A & UN FS for the boot / glove compartment locks.
Re: Lost Keys,
Got some BL keys today one of them opened the drivers door, nothing else though. Could a new key be cut from the chassis number??
Re: Lost Keys,
Did it have the little BL plug hole logo on it? If so, where did you find them?
Re: Lost Keys,
yep it did, one of the lads in the club gave me them to try, i have a set of morris marina keys here in the house also that has it going to root them out and try.

Re: Lost Keys,
Hi Guys, got that set from England on eBay, worked great finally got them filled after drilling out the old unit, bitch of a job. Unfortunately there is an issue with the unit, it turns on no bother and gives deuce, but on the last roll back of the key it won’t start the engine. I don’t know what up. It maybe that that unit is faulty. I know it can be removed with two screws so can be replaced, can these units be got, with the cables attached?
