Cleaning chrome/wheels

#1 Post by HQentity »

Hiya!

I was just wondering if anyone has any tips on cleaning the various chrome parts of Dollies? I've got a small amount of rust on the wheels, I've read online its possible to buff this off with foil but I'm nervous about damaging or dulling the wheels? And as for the regular chrome I'm assuming regular car polish will make a wonderful job of it? :)

No polish can remove rust. However as a gentle chrome polish you can't got wrong with Autoglym Super Resin Polish. It's gentle on chrome and provides a degree of protection. Peek, Autosol etc are good but are excessively harsh for regular use.

The Sprint style wheels are not chrome but aluminium alloy. Metal polish works well but aluminium quickly dulls as a new oxide layer forms. Best polish then apply a wax product to help seal in the finish. Again no need for anything really harsh, the Autogym will work quite well.
