1300 water pump lubrication

#1 Post by andrew_27 »

My toledo has the later type water pump fitted.. is there a way to lubricate it? haynes says fit a grease nipple but this appears to be in reference to the older type pump with a plug at the top. there is a small hole in the housing where the bearings are, but it isnt threaded, would this be for oiling it or is it meant to be a sealed for life type job?

Sounds like a sealed for life pump. The small hole is usually to let water out if the seal leaks.

I would just settle for a sealed engine. Even a few months.....(that is on the Mini though!)
