Video recording on a phone

#1 Post by 80Sprint »

I want to use a Samsung S4 to record some in car footage but it stops recording at just under 2 mins.
It's recording to a new 32 gb card.
Size has been reduced on the picture size.

Any clues as to what is wrong ? If I record on to the phone it is just over 1min but last year on holiday I was recording 3 mins plus with no issues. I thought the card would solve it.

Hi Mike, I'm not terribly familiar with the model you mention but I do have a bit to do with other makes. Here are some pointers.
Some phones have to be told where to record to. The default is the phone memory. This will be in one of the top level camera menus.
Have you named the new card ? ( Not always neccessary.)
Also in one of the menus you may find " maximum record length " . Set it to maximum.
What image size is it generating ?

Tony.

Tony

It is recording to the sd card. Not sure of the size but I have chosen the smaller options in video.
I have since found an old samsung S3 model with a cracked screen my son had and it works fine in that. I still need to sort the other phone and will have to compare settings like for like although I thought I had been through them all.

Thanks

Might it be a bug with the default camera app?.

Have you tried an alternative from the app store?
