Mart, what backplate holes do you mount the engine stand into? I'm still trying to work out the best ones to use, mine doesn't line up well.

Everything's looking superb as usual, I have to confess that you've been a source of inspiration for me watching your restorations over the years!

I'll check on the mounting holes & get back to you later.

Thanks for the compliment, I think you are doing a superb job with your own restoration. A must watch.

Interesting...I do much the same

If you look at the dutch guy who did one recently he used the side mounting holes, which I thought was interesting.

Means you can do more on the stand at the flywheel end, but the bolts look a bit small for my liking.

Note from Admin: sadly Jon passed away in February 2018 but his humour and wealth of knowledge will be fondly remembered by all. RIP Jonners.

I noticed that too - but in my eye's it looks bit hap hazardous - accident waiting to happen. Would you fancy working on your engine at that angle.

Here you can see some details. Make sure make it long enough and in the centre for easy turning. Fittting it on this side and this way the weight is even and the deck face level what makes it easy to fit the head and do some measurements. On the other end i did weld a big plate what does fit the original stand.

I've been meaning to make up a bracket for my stand for years. I just haven't gotten around to it.

I started to split the propshaft yesterday evening so that I could fit the new centre bearing/carrier. One job I've never done before on a Sprint.

Prop looks great!

Thanks for the engine mounting pics, it's sitting much better in the stand now.

Having ordered some up and used it, this indeed 'a good brew' and cut into the wheel paint (assume a factory powder coat ) a treat, and the paint is as hard as nails. A chap I work with was moaning about Nitomors not beefing any good, he took it back to the shop. He couldn't understand it "Nitomors used to be the mutts nutts" he said. I explained the only similarity between the 'old school stuff' and the new spec is the name.

Thanks for the intel, Sprint looks to be coming on well Mart, to be expected of course.
