Does anybody want a Mini?

#1 Post by DavePoth »

A father's friend has asked me to try and offload a Mini he's had in his garage for ten years.

1986 Mini Piccadilly 998cc, ruined gearbox, engine probably toast as well (turns over by hand but lots of metally bits in the oil). Brakes are seized on too. However, the shell seems to be reasonably sound from everything I've looked at, and it's been stored in a fairly well ventilated garage.

It's located in Bath and will want trailering. He'd like it to go to someone who'll use it rather than getting stripped for parts if possible but he needs it gone in the next few weeks. I'll be taking some pictures next weekend which I'll post up here. Open to offers, PM me if you're interested.

Hi,
Would you be able to supply me with further details as and when its possible please as both myself and my son would like to start a project together to teach him a few things abput mechanics etc and this would be an ideal platform

Thanks

No problem at all. As I said, it'll be next weekend before I can take any photos, but aside from what I've written below the car is otherwise complete, including the full interior and all the glass. It's a Piccadilly special edition, so looks a bit like this:

-image removed in case it was confusing-

(obviously a lot dustier)

Although it currently has stripes up the bonnet, a white roof (vinyl), a chrome grill, and clear indicators. Nothing that can't be put back to standard if required.

Wow, a month passes fast. Here are the pictures. Rustier than I remember (isn't that always the case though?)

First ten.
