1300 fwd seat belts

#1 Post by epcot_pete »

Hi, my 1300 fwd came with no seat belts.
1. Can I fit retractor seat belts to the front seats, if so could someone recommend a particular type?
2. Has anyone fitted retractor type seat belts to the rear seats, if so I would love to hear from you for advice?
Appreciate your feedback.

Hi I have retractor type belts in the front of my 1300, should pose no real problems fitting using standard mounts. As for the rear Im sure with the many types of retractor belts that can be bought these days, that you could find something that has the reel mounted flat so you could mount it on the parcel shelf at the back regards Terry

Pete, as Terry has said fronts and backs are both available. The mounting points are on your car for these.
To help your search you can cross reference with the Triumph 2000.
Chris Witor (amongst others) has these available new.

I believe Matt of the Vivas has some rear seat belts available, might be worth dropping him a PM to see?

As already stated you can use the original mounting points and Dolomite seat belts will bolt straight in.

The only issue at the back is in fitting a three point retractor belt in the middle. The standard fittings (on my sprint) were only for a lap belt, so I needed to mod under the shelf for the top mount.

Sorry, I know this is an old thread but I am now in the process of fitting the two rear seat belts and have anchor positions for the parcel shelf and centre hip buckle in the middle under rear seat base - but cannot find a mounting point for the start of the seat belt anchor, which should be around the wheel arch base area under rear seat base. (sorry about description being too wordy). There has been a lot of welding previously in that area so could the points have been welded over - there is no signs of a weld-nut underneath the car. The only other visual sign is the two outer mounting points for the sub-frame where the bolts come through under the seat base - surely these are not the ones?
Appreciate comments from anyone who has fitted rear belts.
Many thanks, once again

On KAC, drilled the wheel arch, and used plate washers
