Yet another problem unfolding, found that the voltage stabiliser is broke, fuel and water gauges have been working sporadically, so took all the tape off that had been wrapped round it and one of the prongs has become detached and was attached to the tape, so my question is is this knackered now? and can I still drive my car without it in the short term? I've tried to attach picture so fingers crossed.

Forgot to say that I reattached the wires to the 2 remaining prongs and gauges worked but cannot get any readings on my volt meter to measure if its 10 volts or not!!
Martin, no markings on casing, in fact it doesn't even have a casing it was just wrapped up in lots of electrical tape, and no solder at bottom of prongs, Can I still use the Dolly or is it best not to without this in situe? I'm not brilliant electrically but do have a volt meter, and from the remaining 2 prongs I get no readings although the gauges do work with wires connected to 2 remaining prongs!
Also would it be more ideal to try and source an original?
Cheers Again
Rich..
You will be ok to drive like it but you obviously won't have fuel & temp. gauges, so you would need to know you have enough fuel and theat the engine wasn't overheating.
