Thinking of selling up dolly bits
Hi I have been trying to complete my sprint resto for the last 5 years and seem to be not getting very far, after going to goodwood last weekend I have come to the conclusion to sell off all the parts and buy a mev rocket as I just want a usable toy for weekends and the dolly seems to far away for this. The shell has taken an age to get where it is now and will need painting still, I have always wanted a sprint on the road but after the constant delays with the bodyshop I feel I need to cut this project loose! I did start posting how I was getting on under the resto section as jyp sprint. The engine is fully rebuilt, the axle is completely rebuilt, every part to reassemble has been powder coated, all new ride height adjustable shocks, diamond cut wheels, full stainless exhaust, tracker jack brakes with drilled and grooved discs, three gearboxes(one rebuilt others good used) all other parts have been zinc plated, oil cooler, two sets of black interior, roll cage, basically 7 years of collecting parts. Two spare engines, new old stock front panel, front wing( very good used), braided lines brake and clutch, filling cabinet full of gaskets etc, fully pressed louvred bonnet. I will do a full list of parts and post prices. I genuinely want to complete this project but after seeing parts I have already refurbished start to gather surface rust again I really do loose enthusiasm for it

No no no....
Just book a couple of days holiday and get cracking. The weather is great and the evenings are long. Just get it to a driveable
stage and your perspective will completely change...

As Jon says! You've put so much effort in to it it would be such a shame to throw in the towel now.
If it's good bodyshops you are after I have a couple places I've used personally and would highly recommend..

Also the financial side, how much money do you put in before calling it a day? I know values are on the up but it just seems to much to try and complete

It isn't really about the money although there has to be a limit on what you spend. I reckon that you'll regret selling it. The cars are getting a bit harder to come by these days. Get your project moving forwards and get someone else to do the work if the current garage is dragging their feet.

With KSF I stopped counting bills once they passed 7K.. in 2012.. I wouldn't be surprised if I had passed £10K by now..
Then again, if I had a modern car I would have lot more in depreciation, plus my Sprint is exactly as I want it, done the way I want it
You've done the hard (and expensive) work on your car, once you have the bodywork done it's just a matter of bolting it all together. With the quality of the restored parts you showed me a few years ago, yours should be one of the best when done..
