Hello folks...
You've all been a tower of support ever since I commenced my Triumph journey as it were...
Through thick and through thin you've been there and you've helped in more ways than I would have thought possible!
It seems that I may have a terminal problem with my Toledo though and I need some help to see if it can be diagnosed through this superb forum?!
My Toledo is a short-commute daily driver and I hope that it is a better car for that...
However, yesterday strange noises and vibrations were felt and as something I use nearly every day I knew it wasn't right!!!
I think there is something wrong with the driveline/transmission as things are wobbly and rumbly...!
The engine, when running at idle is still smooth and un-stifled so I can't see a problem with that...
However, when moving the engine seems like it want to stall when I approach anything near stationary and when I am in fourth gear there is a rumbly whine that is coming from goodness knows where...!!!
All in all I know there is a problem but I'll be jiggered if I can pinpoint where it's coming from!!!
Please help!!!
I've had this car for years now and I will be dammed if I can't sort out this minor (although it will probably be major!) inconvenience...
Thanks a million in advance to you all...!!!
Is the end nigh...?!?!?!

Wheel bearing or brake binding on?
Jack the car up and spin the wheels by hand.

Re: Is the end nigh...?!?!?!
Yes, as Bill says; my first look-see would be for wheel bearings, especially at the rear. The whine is most probably a bearing running dry or worn out. I was wondering about the diff; But the other symptom of the car sounding as if it wants to stall when slowing down could be a propshaft U.J. failing ( At low speeds it will accentuate any slight forward / backwards movement sound a lot worse. )
Where abouts in the country are you ? 4 ears are better than 2 sometimes if there is someone else local.
Does the noise sound worse if you sit in the back of the car ? :- with someone else driving of course.
Tony.

I think that this has to be drive-train linked as the motor itself is sounding as perfect as ever when the car is standing still...
I have to keep this car running as it's looked after me and I need to look after 'IT'...!!!
