HELP PLEASE - Sprint gearbox casing refurbishing

#1 Post by simonhorton »

I have a very early Sprint gearbox , but it's been left outside and the casing has weathered with age
- corrosion / white marks on it

Does anyone know the best way to get it cleaned up
Do I get it shot blasted , bead blasted , power washed etc

Any ideas ??

Many thanks

I usually use a knotted wire brush on my angle grinder.
Sprintless for the first time in 35+ years. :boggle2: ... Still Sprintless.

Engines, Gearboxes, Overdrives etc. rebuilt. PM me.

If your planning to overhaul the gearbox - everything out it would be worthwhile bead blasting the box casing -

Nice and clean.
