Replacing bushes on clutch cross shaft

#1 Post by simonhorton »

Has anyone renewed the bushes on each side of the bell housing were the clutch cross shaft goes through ?

Is it a difficult job ?

Many thanks :)

No its not difficult. They are a split sprung bush and just drift out.

Moss et al have new ones and they aren't dear.

And you can use 2 bushes at each side as opposed to one (there's enough space for 2).

That way, the shaft is better supported and wears on a different patch on the shaft than it used to do ;-)
