Bulkhead soundproofing

#1 Post by shep »

Does anyone know where I can source a new soundproofing pad for my bulkhead? I know they're not easy to come by. It doesn't matter if its new or if its a roll of material I have to cut myself, but as you can see from the pic, mine is looking a tad worse for wear!

Any help appreciated!
Thanks

I saw a reference in Mad Marts Pimento Sprint thread.

Speak to Aldridge Trimming. They digitised an 1850 one for me (easy to cut out for Sprint) and they can supply one cut out on a suitable material, nothing like original but looks fine. I had 8 made up about 2 years ago but they all sold unfortunately.

I told them about the pattern being incorrect for the Sprint after being told it was specifically for the Sprint. I had this reply...
Hello Martin,

I do apologise, we thought they were the same, so we will amend our patterns.

Kind Regards,

Do you need one?
Unless going for factory spec, I wonder what value they bring. I have not had one on mine since it's respray 5 years ago and can't notice any difference.

Yeh I mainly want it to make it look better. It must help a bit with sound as well but its main purpose for me is to hide the bad finish I have on the bulkhead
