Toledo in need of rescue

#1 Post by Minta78 »

Hi there, new to the forum just inherited 1972 Toledo, been in a barn for 20 years so as you can imagine feeling sorry for herself. In need of restoration and a lot of love and care. I will need various panels and engine parts so any help and nods in the right direction would be appreciated. I look forward to sharing my progress with you all.

Cheers

Welcome to the forum.

You've come to the right place. You'll find all the help and advice you need on here. If you want to share and document your progress then start a thread in the "resto" section. Photos are a must. If you can get it running and drivable, it might be worth putting it in for an MoT just to see what it needs to be roadworthy again. This depends on the condition of the car. Don't forget to join the Club. It is worth every penny of the membership fee.

The Club do these panels in GRP if you're not too bothered about originality. Steel ones are a bit harder to come by and can cost a fortune when they do turn up.

Definitely going to join the club. After reading other threads it seems essential. Got a long road ahead but looking at some of the examples on here it will be well worth it.Will put some pictures on as soon as I get my head round it all.

Hello and welcome. There is a lot of love for the Toledo on here.

Mick Dolphin, Rimmer Bros - et al.

The club panels are spot on and I would happily recommend them to anyone needing a suitable replacement.

Photos and regular updates are essential! :)

There may be local folk who could support/advise further.

All the best.

Ken
