Reliable garage services near Godalming?
Reliable garage services near Godalming?
I've just relocated to Godalming and had my Dolly SE parked on my girlfriends drive whilst waiting to rent a garage. Came to move it today and the clutch slave cylinder appears to have broken. I'm keen to get it fixed and garaged quickly and this is not a job I want to attempt myself. Does anyone know of a decent local garage that could repair (and possibly recover). Thanks in advance, Chris

Thanks Alun but I'm not really a garage business....
Normally I would be only too pleased to help but I'm just snowed under at the moment.

I think it would help if you could tell the garage which bit has broken so they can quote you before they recover the car. The cylinder itself is good and strong but the bracket I think is alloy and in short supply so they would have to source this from somewhere first. The operating rod is good and strong; but is it the actual clutch lever that has broken ? If its like the 1850 one it is a known weak point; and again they are in short supply.Dols/e wrote:I' Came to move it today and the clutch slave cylinder appears to have broken. Good point. In what way do you think it is broken?
If the pedal goes down but the clutch does not appear to be working, it may just be a stuck clutch (if the car has not been used for some time)
May be an easy fix. Worth a bit of simple diagnosis first
