There's the one for sale in the appropriate section of the forum which I expect you've seen. May be a bit costly to ship it.

Or bike carbs
I have a video of my sprint on Keihlin Kawasaki XR6 carbs and they were just as good as my 45 Dellorto's.
The main problem is fabricating a manifold.
I have just completed a bike carb conversion on my XR2 engined Quantum 2+2 sports car and they are working well :D

However back to your question. If you have a modified cam and a bit of head work then go for the Dellorto's for road as they have more adjustment to make them user friendly unless its just the track where the Webers rule.

The 16v Slant 4 engine is more fun than the 3.5 V8, because you mostly drive it on the upslope of the torque curve.

You may say "go suck eggs" Dave but the biggest cost with sidedraughts is setting them up properly, look forward to ££££££££££££££££££ before they run right.
I do have a copy of the SAH tuning manual which gives all the jet sizes for a basic set up.

Good luck!

I had a pair of Dellorto DHLA 45s on one of the TR7 Sprints I ran in the 1990s. And I loved them. The car went really, really well (and stopped well too). And, I think, it gave the TR7 V8 I had at the same time more than a run for its money; despite that being measured as giving 30 more horsepower.

I was also most surprised that the fuel consumption wasn't that much worse than with the SUs. As I remember, the monthly average went from around 27 mpg on SUs to around 25 on Dellortos. Mind you, little of that was driving in town, which might make a difference; especially, depending on how the accelerators pumps are setup. The V8, on the other hand, was a right thirsty bugger. Even on SU HIFs, I was lucky to get anywhere near 20 mpg from that on a run – and driving round town would have been dead depressing, were it not for the noise that V8s make.

As to setting up, my set had come off a Sprint with a similar spec to my engine, so they were quite close to start with. I did have to put different main jets in, at the recommendation of the guy with the rolling road. Can't remember what it cost, but it wasn't a big expense – the parts or the advice. So I guess it may depend on what they've come off, and you having access to someone with a rolling road and someone who knows how to set them up.

But when they are right, they are great: despite my issues with using my car as dad's taxi, I have a pair of Solex ADDHE 45s in the garage, and I would love to fit them. Maybe one day.

Found the picture of them as fitted - sorry it's a bit overexposed. The bigest problem I had in doing that, as can be seen, was the TR7's cabin air scoop. I had to get a plastic one and cut lumps out of it to go around the back carb and throttle linkage. Some who've done the same with TR7 Sprints don't bother fitting one. But then the dizzy gets a wee bit wet if you drive slow when it rains, as it's right underneath the 7's cabin air intake.

Never did fit a choke cable - just pumped the throttle a couple of times before firing up.
