WARNING! This may have you rethinking your engine build James!

And it just has!!
If you didn't do it, it would always be nagging at the back of your brain, the thought that, no matter how nice it is, it could have been a little bit better! As I see it, you have no choice!
Absolutely right, given what's happening to the rest of the car the least I can do is try to build the best standard engine out there.
So I'm thinking that I may just follow what Jeroen has done, imitation being the best form of flattery and all Jeroen!
I'll start with the pistons and rods, need to get a con rod balance fixture for this from the states to weigh them accurately.
The crankshaft and flywheel are balanced, block is clean and has been re-bored. I am due to collect a good late head from Julian (tinweevil) so I'm just going to check and probably refub that (if necessary) with my new camshaft, I can do all of the port matching and dowels for the inlet manifold as well. At the same time I'll get the old one finished so I can sell it which will hopefully fund some of this extra work.
Oh and ARP bolts all round I think!
An advance thanks to Jeroen for his post.
Quite excited now, thanks Mart
