Parts delivery time differences.

#1 Post by Sundowner »

Being of mostly Scottish blood, I've always hunted around for the best price on just about anything I buy. So when I saw the price the UK Vendors were asking for ball joints, I thought that I could find better deals elsewhere. I looked at the Australian & New Zealand market, but even with the lesser postage costs, they were WAY dearer.
I then looked on DolleBay and found one in the UK that, with postage charges added, was only about 30% of the vendors price. I found the other in Barcelona at about 50%.
So, early on Monday 15th and about 5 mins apart, I bought them and PayPal'd for them.
The one coming from the UK was shipped immediately (I was notified) and it arrived the following Monday, the 22nd. (A week from the UK to regional Australia is absolutely brilliant for HM's snail mail. Usually 10 days to a fortnight)
Two days ago, on Wednesday 24th, I was really disappointed when advised that the Spanish one had just been dispatched. This indicates that it took 10 days for Manuel to pick it off the shelf, pack it, address it and post it.
And here I was hoping to install them this weekend.
I guess that's one reason why the Vendors exist....reliability.
Cheers,
Rob

And then you wonder why Spanish people are often branded as lazy. I can only assume that he was too busy stealing our fish to pack your parts.

Your lucky to get the items, I had to re-order from another supplier to get the job done, and
then get Paypal to refund me.

Being half Spanish that seems a bit harsh, but I'll take it in the spirit of national stereotyping for amusement value, after all, not every Englishman is an emotionally repressed right wing basket case with an inferiority complex and bad teeth!
