which thrust washer takes clutch load?
I am a bit confused about this. All the instructions talk about replacing the thrusts in the rear near the gearbox, but surely the ones taking the load from the clutch and therefore the wear are located at the front by the fan belt? (1500)

There is only one pair of thrusts in the engine, both at the rear end of the crank either side of No4 main bearing. maybe that is the confusion?

Thanks, I have been looking at the Heynes manual and the "blow up" diagram of the engine lists another set of thrust bearings at the front. Must be a mistake in the book.cliftyhanger wrote:There is only one pair of thrusts in the engine, both at the rear end of the crank either side of No4 main bearing. maybe that is the confusion?
I shall remove the No 4 bearing then.
