#1 Post by simonhorton »

Thanks

Positive absolutely yes, even if there was not, I would put one on.

Negative I can't find it on any of my pictures, but my memory say's there was.

On the safety side, a cover on the negative won't make a difference, as all bare metal areas are negative,
but it may help keep the terminal a bit cleaner.

I'm sure you will get a positive answer (make that a negative (terminal) by the end of the day.

Yep, just on the +ve. Wish I could get hold of one that hasn't got a split in it.

That pic is pure fiction....
The positive clamp is a clamp and doesnt have a lead pot with a hole for a screw. That kind of connector was always bin fodder on MGB's
My early dolly always had the clamp and was built long before any Sprints came along....

It was just to show the cover on the +ve lead and not on the -ve lead. No pleasing some.

Lol....sorry Mart that wasn't aimed at you....the parts book authors are to blame...

Well out of date....:-) I'm sure Simon was well chuffed with the pic, which was only wrong in that one detail.

The battery cover in Tony's link looks just like mine, except in one piece :D
