Not cheap,

What's up with yours?

I've fallen a bit ill today otherwise my carbs would be going in tomorrow. Might be worth a little wait to see the outcome.

Try Andrew Turner, he's very reasonably priced. Do though consider what level of refurb your carbs need as a lot of it is perfectly possible to do yourself easily. If you need your bodies bushing though then get someone else to do that bit as it's potentially quite difficult.

Seen his work, looks nice.

Forgot to say, once mine are in and working, I'll put my list of parts used on the thread, with costing and whether the bits were needed or not.

Ott is an understatement.

I have used Andrew Turner and he did a very good job. He also electroplated all of the mounting brackets and linkages for an extra £15.

I agree AT does a very nice job but I would add a warning if you are going for MikeyB / James467 level of perfection.

I had my GT6 carbs done and specified by phone and in a letter sent with the carbs that I did not want an exchange set, I'd wait however long it took and wanted my carbs back refurbed. I had spent quite some time verifying that my set was exactly correct for the age & model and so likely the untouched originals. What I got back was mostly my carbs but some parts obviously not, none of the changed parts could have been beyond repair. I'd have to get the out of the garage loft to remind myself exactly what had changed. I spoke to Andrew and his feeling was that he'd supplied a very nice pair of carburettors of the correct spec. This is true, they are very nice. They are not what I asked for and nor are they any longer the original set.

I used Carburettor Exchange in Leighton Buzzard, I found them helpful and their prices are reasonable in comparison to other companies.

Are they still going?! I got a recon Stromberg from them for a Volvo 245DL that I had a brief flirtation with back in 1992. Brief because it drank petrol at such a rate that I had to have a petrol tanker follow me around, a situation the refurb carb only marginally helped with...
