Something to break the taper fit in the arm. Either a good crack with a hammer (with nut undone but just attached), or ball joint splitter. If you have spare UNF nuts kicking about, use a plain nut to pull the new ball joint down into the taper in the arm then undo and fit the nyloc nut. Using the nyloc first "can" cause the nut to grip and keep turning the joint which will then need a jack under the arm to press some load into the taper.

I find it easier to push down on the balljoint whilst tightening the nylon nut.
A jemmy is ideal for this (and it is perfectly legal to use it too
).
