1500 fwd interior interior into Toledo?

#1 Post by Cov1500 »

Does anyone know if a full interior - seats, dash (with required loom), height adjustable steering wheel, doors (with cards) will fit into a Toledo?

Seats will fit, Dash will sort of fit, but some of the mountings are different, you may also need the heater unit from the dash donor.

A couple of years ago?
There was a (rather sarcastic) thread concerning a Toledo that had been featured in a magazine, said car
had the full Dolomite 1500HL interior.
So I am thinking it must be possible for you to use your 1500 interior.....

When I was building the Carledo, I had a full rolling shell of a (terminally rotten) 1980 Sprint to help me. this gave me a Sprint axle, servo, dual circuit master, 7/16 studded front hubs, wiring loom and of course a full Sprint dash and heater assy. Good value for the £120 I paid, I thought.

I have now seen several cars converted thus, both Toledos and low spec Dolomites, but when I built my car, I was neither a forum or club member and was somewhat baffled by the different mounting systems between the Toledo and Sprint. I had worked out that I needed to swap the heater assembly as well, but none of the mountings near the screen matched between the 2 models. Certainly the dash will stay in place with what WILL match up but I personally was not satisfied that it would give me a permanent and rattle free solution, so I refitted the Toledo dash and heater whilst making the adjustable column fit that.
