hi there, the float chambers on both S U's have two inlets, one the longer one is for the fuel supply via the connecting pipe, what is the short one for? I stripped the carbs a while back I cant remember what was on the inlet, my triumph manual shows only one inlet on each float chamber any advice would be appreciated thanks kev

The short one is an overflow for when the needle valve sticks. OE was a plastic pipe which discharged to ground below the level of all the hot bits!
