I have a new pair of front springs for an 1850 or a Sprint, part number 217989,
their free length is 344mm.

Not directly relevant, but I found my ancient TT manual, and it has some specs listed. Worth noting are the shock seat pan dimensions:

Front spring 139lb, fitted length 9", shock pan height: sprint 6.75", std 6.375" (weight on each spring 630lb)

Rear spring 139lb, fitted length 8" shock pan height sprint 6.375", std 5.75" (weight on each spring 500lb)

I reiterate, these are from the original TT manual, so may (or may not!) be reliable. But it seems very plausible that the shocks should be different. The weight on each spring I have calculated from the earlier free lengths, and using the TT figures. Handy to work out free lengths and poundage of springs if you require ant given fitted length.
