Oil Transfer Housing

#1 Post by andrewwild »

Hoping someone can help me.

Was supplied with a new oil pressure switch from Rimmers, it looked exactly the same but after closer inspection now it is slightly longer thread, unfortunately it cracked the transfer housing and oil is now leaking everywhere, I've discovered these are hard to come across, Stanpart 214020.

Does anyone here have one spare they would be willing to sell?

Many Thanks, Andy

the thread on the oil pressure switch is a 3/8 unf tapered thread, you don't need to screw it all the way in, just until it is tight.

you could have the hole welded up and drill and tap the second boss on the cover, this would save the cover.

James Paddock has one 'listed', but of course might not actually have one but maybe worth a call, as would be TD Fitchett if no TDC bods have one lying around:

214020U OIL TRANSFER HOUSING GOOD USED £8.50
Current fleet: '75 Sprint, '73 1850, Daihatsu Fourtrak, Honda CG125, Yamaha Fazer 600, Shetland 570 (yes it's a boat!)

Past fleet: Triumph 2000, Lancia Beta Coupe, BL Mini Clubman, Austin Metro, Vauxhall Cavalier MK1 & MK2, Renault 18 D, Rover 216 GSI, Honda Accord (most expensive car purchase, hated, made out of magnetic metal as only car I've ever been crashed into...4 times), BMW 318, Golf GTi MK3 16v x 3

Isn't it 3/8 BSF? Good idea though to get it welded up at a local fab shop that does aluminium welding.

Scrapping an 1850 block soon, let me know if you need the housing.
