Zizzing

#1 Post by 80Sprint »

Well that's the best description I can come up with of the sound coming from my gear stick. It,s quite loud as I can hear it over the engine and exhaust which is loud anyway. If I put my hand on the stick it makes no difference but I can have a habit of driving with a hand on the stick longer than I should and I know that can cause issues.

Any clues please ?

IIRC oem peeps had weights around the stick, halfway up (usually under the gaiter) to help.
Is there a spring loaded nylon plunger against teh bottom of the stick? I know the single rail boxes have that.
Otherwise some heavy grease around the bottom of the stick ball area may do the trick. Or a lead gearknob.....
