I know I'm an idiot

#1 Post by tommack »

I have a bit of a conundrum,,,,, I've done the ignition timing on my sprint and it wouldn't start so I done the usual thing, undone the bolt on the distributor gave it a twist and it fired up,,,not running too well I thought I would put the strobe light on and to my surprise it was running at 24 degrees before tdc, when I put it to the correct position it cuts out. Now I know this is probably a simple solution ie something I've done  so some pointers in the right direction would be most welcome :D

Dizzy on the right way? I've set mine 180 degrees out before. I'd check the rotor arm is pointing at the correct terminal of the dizzy cap for cylinder 1 via HT lead. If this is correct check camshaft is at tdc for cylinder one. Just a guess...
