Sprint alternartor mounting/adjutment bracket needed

#1 Post by GrahamFountain »

Has anybody got a spare alternator bracket - the long slotted arm that goes under the alternator and lets you tension the belt - that they will sell me?

Mine's had an accident with a garage trying to fit a doly alternator with the TR7 aluminimum mounting still on the block. Woudn't care, but they had both engines side by side and still couldn't work out what they were doing wrong. I'm mobile, but the extra bracket welded to the lifting eye is a sore point. They also put the long bolt in from the front, so that was fun. Nearly.

The 16v Slant 4 engine is more fun than the 3.5 V8, because you mostly drive it on the upslope of the torque curve.

Factory 1977 TR7 Sprint FHC VVC 697S (Now all of, but still needs putting together)
B&Y 73 Dolomite Sprint UVB 274M (kids!)
1970 Maroon 13/60 Herald Convertable (wife's fun car).
