Best track rod ends?
Best track rod ends?
Who sells nice ones that will last a bit? Need 2 pairs for both cars and don't want to get rubbish.

I bought from ANG several years ago, they've lasted - but that was several years ago!
Why not call Robsport and chat with them, get a feeling for what they think they're selling?

I've seen some which are re-greasable, surely a good thing?

Re: Best track rod ends?
I had a pair of non greaseable ones from ANG about 18 months ago. The rubber gaiters both disintegrated within 6 weeks of fitting them. I just said "Oh well" and found a couple of decent used OE gaiters on somewhat worn balljoints in the rubbish box and fitted them instead. The joints themselves appear fine - but it's early days for a balljoint to fail yet.

Re: Best track rod ends?
If you fit non-greaseable joints of any type, its always worth popping the rubbers off and adding some more grease, they very rarely seem to have more than a very slight smear.
Re: Best track rod ends?
i got my re-greasable TRE from ang on ebay, within few months the rubber went dry and crispy,,got a replacement bundle of rubbers, but ive now found and bought some poly type from bulgeria also on ebay, not fitted as yet but they look good to go on,TRE have been on the car now coming upto 3yrs(sept) and they are still tight, once in awhile one squeeze on the grease gun,,job done and yes when you fit them from fresh, remove the rubbers and fill up with grease and wipe excess off,re-fit rubbers,,,happy days

Re: Best track rod ends?
The club sell balljoint gaiters for all Dolomite balljoints anyway, so it's not a major problem. Just a bit frustrating, I guess it's just a problem associated with old stock.
