Sprint britpart kit

#1 Post by cleverusername »

I have used the britpart kit on the 1500 and since I know it I want to use it for the Sprint engine.

Now as far as I understand it I can use if I use a substitute dizzy cap from a ambassador. However that needs different leads, since I don't have any at the moment that isn't issue, but I don't know which leads are required. Are there are off the shelf leads that will work, or do I need to modify a set of sprint leads?

With care here!

This is specific to the Britpart one, I couldn't get mine to work reliably due to an issue lining up the reluctor ring with the hall sensor, a home made plastic washer was tried but then the rotor arm (can't use the original rotor either) didn't seat as well as it could, hear that some have sanded down the rotor arm to make it fit better. Even after all that I could not get it to behave reliably.
Current fleet: '75 Sprint, '73 1850, Daihatsu Fourtrak, Honda CG125, Yamaha Fazer 600, Shetland 570 (yes it's a boat!)

Past fleet: Triumph 2000, Lancia Beta Coupe, BL Mini Clubman, Austin Metro, Vauxhall Cavalier MK1 & MK2, Renault 18 D, Rover 216 GSI, Honda Accord (most expensive car purchase, hated, made out of magnetic metal as only car I've ever been crashed into...4 times), BMW 318, Golf GTi MK3 16v x 3
