Got the tunnel back in, all but one spire nut fitted back in.
Had to change the neoprene seal to the thinner one, putting bolts and nuts from underneath the car is too much hard work at the moment.
The extra bit of padding put in, and the rubber gaitor and retaining ring.
Put the tunnel carpet on, with the new padding being a bit thinner, there's more carpet.

Cracking job....I'm not surprised about the seal. You need the studs on the front bulkhead to pull the lot into alignment. Of course in most cases the poxy
small studs and nuts shear off.

I did manage to locate all four studs, one needed bending inwards, but got away, secured all four with nylocs.
I was looking at the gaitor hole, but the o/d cable is non std, and I have left slack.

With the Mrs gone to see her mum, not much has happened for the last 3 weeks, other than baby sit.
Managed to cutout the backing board (tin) for the two new fuse boxes.
The idea is to mount the two boxes onto the board and use the fold to clip it to the passenger side
of the parcel shelf, as opposed to making holes in it, a magnetic strip stuck will allow easy removal
and stop the rattle.

Too messy for a permanent solution, will remake later in the year.

Managed to fit the parcel shelf back today, and even cleared the seats of tools and bits.
Also put the dashboard back,
Took the car out for a spin, and I must say a Sprint is very forgiving in 3rd and 4th gears.
Unfortunately the overdrive is not working, upon return I whipped the cap off and found 12v present, and the solenoid clicking when the wires are shorted, a new switch it is then.
I have a new switch but refrained from changing it because, the old one is smooth and not so clicky.
Also put the dashboard back,

I ran my GT6 with 2 overdrive switches in series, 1 on the stick and the earlier design one on the steering column, just to see which one I preferred. To engage the overdrive, both switches had to be "in" but switching 1 out would shift to direct. I had just about decided that I preferred the column switch when the decision was made for me, the gearstick snapped off at the hole where the wires come out - 120 miles from home! I got it home by removing the gaiters and shifting with the 2" stub that was left. The car got a standard stick and a nice turned ally knob as soon as I got home. I still hate the stick mounted switch!

I once borrowed a Volvo 965GLT estate, the gear stick would come out in the hand when changing gear, interesting drive that day.

I know talking about something simple as a switch is boring, but sharing is good 
Put the new overdrive switch in, and it's faulty, bought brand new end of last year and it does not
make a connection between the two points.
Also when in place it does not slide up or down easily as it seems to be a bit larger than the old one.
I wanted the old switch namely because the in/out writing is engraved in and filled in with white, as
opposed to the new one which is merely white print.
Best option, refurb the old switch, took it apart,

a quick clean in the ultrasonic cleaner,
The plastic ends on the spring can easily be lost, ( done it) found it)
All put together and back in the car, works a dream.

All of a sudden, the windscreen washer has stopped working.
No 12v+ voltage at the screenwash motor, so followed back to the stalk, where wipers are working, pull
single wipe is working but can't seem to dismantle the push in section of the stalk to check voltage, is there a trick ?
It seems a shame to replace the whole stalk just for something that can be dismantled and refurbished.
And yes, the two springs and ball bearings did ping out, luckily I found them

This evening I changed the contact set and condenser, much better, check the ignition timing, spot on.
Then I changed the spark plugs, looking at the picture the old plugs are not something to be proud of, but they are,
The plugs are actually a bit drier then they went in, and in the same overall condition, normally would be dripping oil.
Hoorah for club alloy spark plug tubes and red rubber grease.
The fifth plug is one of the new set of NGK Iridiums, let's see next time.
But every silver lining has a cloud, this particular bit of fuel line was replaced last year Oct,
