Sprint Cam Chain Tensioner - again....ad nauseam

#1 Post by Aleco »

Hello all,
After a three year break from the dolly - house move/ babies etc I am back into getting my sprint back on the road again! Just hope I manage it before the missus decides another child would be nice.

My cam chain tensioner has lunched itself which has taken the chain with it, luckily I noticed in time so the engine has been mashed too. My engine was rebuilt less than 5k miles ago with tensioner from a well known Triumph supplier.
I've read a lot of posts regarding cam chain tensioners but I couldn't pull out a final thread of which one to buy or whete to buy it. I'm happy to spend a bit more to get something decent.
So,

Does the club have any? Looked on the list but I didn't find any.
What part number do I need to get one of the original 'old' jaguar parts - As I understand these are the good ones?
I read that Nissan ones can be used - Is there a part number and what modifications are needed?

Any information you can give would be great.

Cheers
