#1 Post by wellskint »

does anyone know the best place to get the 3 of these?

how can i tell if the water pump is working?

is is possible to flush out the system with a hosepipe and if so where is the best place to put it in and the best for the water to exit

i am restoring my dads 1973 1500 that has been stood a while. i am no mechanic but happy to try a few simple jobs with the help of any fellow members

thanks i'm wellskint

The Club can supply hose sets for the entire model range including the FWD cars.

hi i am a bit confused. the club have no rad hoses and rimmers think there should only be 2 on a 1500fwd. apart from the bottom hose, there is a smaller one on the rhs of the rad and a bigger one on the left hand side. is it just my car or is that a common arrangement on 1500fwd

I am not familiar with the 1500FWD, however I am familiar with bespoke hose solutions.
You will be able to use silicone hose to fabricate your own.
This is not as daunting as it sounds.
If you post photos of the hoses I'll try to assist.

You should do the heater hoses too.

These don't really go wrong that way. When badly worn they leak…..

Yes. Remove the radiator and flush by placing the hosepipe into the bottom outlet spout.
You should also flush the heater matrix. Connect up the garden hose and use a second hose to take the water safely away (from the engine).
