Very nice looking Sprint on Car and Classic for £12k. Mixed feelings when I see prices like these, an indicator of an awareness of how great the cars are but at the same time pricing people out of the market. Is it a club members car?

Re: Nice Sprint on Car and Classic
For what appears to be a mint early car with a lot of added oomph (though 193 bhp is stretching it a bit I feel) I don't think £12k is out of the way. It's certainly at the top of the desireability stakes!
What I find more indicative is the prices of the other cars listed at the bottom of the ad, with 3 1500s in the £4-6k bracket and what I know to be a rough Sprint project at over £1k, prices definitely seem to be on the up at last! Unless it's just a Car and Classic premium, elsewhere Dolomites of all sorts seem to be selling for somewhat less money. Still don't know how I feel about this, but I guess it is inevitable that as other cars of similar vintage go out of range of "starter classics", so will ours and todays newbies will be looking at 80s and 90s stuff for their intro cars. After all, my 2 "daily" Cavaliers are now 21 and 25 years old respectively and already starting to appreciate (slightly)

Re: Nice Sprint on Car and Classic
Don't get me wrong, this wasn't a moan or me saying that this one is overpriced, after all the vendor has given little information given about it's history to make that call, more that as you said looking below at the other cars, those prices seem to be going up quite a bit.
If when I was shopping for a Dolomite I had seen those prices I would have wondered if I could afford it, but as good quality examples (of Sprints in my case) with little work if any needed could be had for around £5k or less it was something that was affordable for me to consider. And now Just a couple of years later, it seems that prices have shot up!

Re: Nice Sprint on Car and Classic
Aren't you glad that you bought when you did! As am I! The Carledo cost me £200 in 2008 and I drove it home, still taxed!
When I think about it, if I had kept all the cars I had as a young man, I would be a millionaire by now! Previous highlights include, E type Jag 2+2, Alpine Tiger, Mg Magnette ZA, VW split screen camper, a dozen or so MkII Zephyrs and Zodiacs including 2 Zodiac Farnham estates, 7 or 8 MkI and MkII Escorts, 3 MKI Cortinas and a MKII 1600E, 65 Consul Capri GT, 65 Corsair 1500GT 2 door, 4 Heralds, 2 Vitesses, 3 Spitfires 1 GT6, 4 Triumph 2000s and a 2500S Estate, MkI Humber Sceptre, 64 Humber Snipe Estate, 54 Humber Hawk, 61 Ford Galaxie500 and a 64 Thunderbird, Volvo 122S Estate, I could go on! Most of these cars came for less than £500 and the most I ever sold one for was the Volvo which made £1000 in 2007. Now I feel sick!
