Let the journey begin!!!
Let the journey begin!!!
Well folks...i will be leaving my sleepy little village in scotland at 4am to head to Great Yarmouth to collect my first ever Dolly. Excited and aprehensive to say the least as I only have had pics of car which were too small so couldnt really make it out. But the gent seems very genuine and a nice fella and as much as looking forward to collecting the car it will be nice to meet owner and assure him it will be in good hands. It's a basic 1850 with no mods and tbh if it's as good as it sounds I won't be fiddling with it...hopefully that will be another project for my track car. Thanks to all the guys that gave me some snippets of info and advice, much appreciated and look forward to putting a few pics up when I get home.
Wish me luck.
Wish me luck.

Good luck mate and a safe journey!
But I am troubled by your reference to wanting a second "track" car! You should be aware that you are showing disturbing signs of Dolomite addiction before you have even collected your first! There is no known cure for this, just thought you should know!

Gee! Thanks! But I'll take the rap if it'll make you feel better. Since I am already a hopeless addict (and my wife knows it) I have nothing to lose!

Safe journey Magoo!
We collected my second Dolly (third if you count the one I ran in the 1980's!) from South Wales last weekend and drove it back to Norfolk - 300 miles in one day.
Are you intending to do the journey back in one day?

Hi Magoo, thinking of you on your journey home as it's been misty all day here in Norfolk
Hope you have a good and uneventful run and get home safely.
