Happy New Year to all. I've not been on here for a little while but my positive New Years revolution is to get my beloved Truimph Sprint back on the road! I am looking for a good mobile welder to weld some areas on my Triumph Dolomite Sprint shell - sills, rear panels, front panels, jacking points etc. I have a limited budget so some of these repairs may need to be done in stages. I live near Halstead, Essex. I am hard of hearing so I can only email, text and speak face to face, unfortunately I can't use the telephone. I'm after an estimate for the work; if anyone could advise of hourly rates you might of experienced or can recommend welders you know or have used I'd appreciate it. It's been a long time coming for my sprint so any help or info will be greatly appreciated. I'm willing to learn as I've got two sprints to get on the road, going to do them one at a time though!

Leeds is a little way for me but good to hear there's a meet there every 1st Wednesday. Sounds great you've got a rolling project too. What have you done with yours, where are you with it all? When I used him around 4 years ago I think he was £40 per hour.
He did a good job and no rust has come through since.
He did not do anything as complicated as the jacking points on mine, if the rot has really set in you could be looking at a large bill.
He did come and view my car before I agreed to use him and gave me a rough idea of the hours needed, which was pretty accurate, although removing sills can reveal hidden rust.

Oh yes. Sills can hide a multitude of sins. Have just replaced a full sill on this Inca Sprint.
This looked ok on the outside until I tried lifting the car on the ramp and the sill collapsed. I think they used a tin opener to remove the outer skin last time.
