Sprint bumper overriders

#1 Post by misterp »

Can anyone give me some pointers as to how the overriders and more importantly for what I'm after, how the rubbers fit onto the overriders?
I have a loose rubber and I 'think' it's the source of a jangling/jingling noise when I'm driving.
It's driving me insane as I've had the car on a hoist wiggled and wobbled everything I could, even had the exhaust off to check it's not internal...But still the noise.
Hoping it's the overriders!

Thanks

If you have the longer early style rubbers on the under-riders, they are simply clamped onto the bracket by bending the two metal tangs that stick out of the rubbers.
Dunno about the later style. You must have a quiet car!

Can you gaffer tape them to the bumper to eliminate the noise? It may comfirm before you start snapping old bolts off. Is the downpipe to gearbox bracket secure? Jingly / jangly sounds like a loose bracket :)

Both early and late rubbers are secured in the same manner.

In my opinion, there is no way you'd hear noise associated with a lose one whilst driving. Look elsewhere.

Thanks guys..

Ive already had the exhaust off the car and shaken, hit, kicked everything I can see and it didnt make a sound.

The exhaust bracket is an interesting one as I dont recall seeing that but it has a performance system on it anyway (single centre box) and so the support bracket that is being discussed on another thread may have been removed long ago.

Anyway, just to rub it in its too hot here today to check (41  ) but will get it back up on the ramps when it cools down a bit and have another look.

Thanks

Andrew
