Perfect timing, due to fit my set in the next few months so this is great, saves me trawling around the forum for the photos!

Glad you think so It's just the fact that people have had difficulty finding the facts and pictures speak volumes.
I am supposed to be retired and though I work 2 days a week I find I am still nice and busy looking after a Toledo for a friend, plus at the moment I am doing a timing chain and guide (yes it's not just Dolomite Sprints that have awful problems) job on our daily driver BMW 318i that has so much chain lash the sensors don't know when to spark so it rattled and ran rough.
remember I am always happy to answer any queries about fitting my mod.

Can those gentlemen who have found a good source of flexible hose to couple up the caliper (10mm male thread) to the stock Triumph metal system (3/8 UNF male), kindly add it to this thread please.

I had 5 sets made by Goodridge and still have a couple of sets left. Unfortunately a slight design error (by me) means you have to move the mounting bracket from the balljoint nut to the front bolt of the TJ bracket and shorten it a bit. However i've had a set on the Carledo for 3 years now without problems of any sort. They come out at £30 a pair + postage.

The next lot I get made will address this problem. Not sure when that will be though.

When I fitted my first set I was replacing metal pipes too so I fitted a metric end on one end and imperial on the other

when i had brake flexible hose made, i used PIRTEK, i think they also sell adaptors metric to imperial

Thanks all and Steve in particular for the information as to where to get things made to order.
I use a place called Hyphose in Farlington near Portsmouth as they are more helpful than Pirtek who are also near. It seems largely to depend on the staff where you go as to what sort of help you get. Some places will not risk any deviation from standard because if any thing goes wrong ..........good old blame culture

These are the Goodridge hoses I had made and how the modified bracket position works, also shows how the TJ kit fits inside a Sprint rim.



The next sets I order will have a 90 degree elbow out of the caliper and a 45 degree one at the front, which will allow the original bracket in the original position to be used.

And this is my oversize mod with 256mm Passat discs and 2001 Puma calipers, carriers and pads, shown within a 14" JBW fake minilite.

One tip I could add is this. Occasionally over the years I have found shakeproof washers have broken and ceased to function. So when I made my special car and presented it for its IVA test the tester quizzed me over how I bolted my calipers on so I replied "the way manufacturers do with a smear of threadlock on the bolts", "Ah that's what I wanted to hear was his reply".
So in conclusion I would recommend that you use threadlock when assembling brakes.

finally got my calipers,thought i had better check i could undo the bled nipple and hose,the calipers im using came from a ford KA,do you know what size bled nipple they use,and on the slide pins do you use LM grease or copper last question can you powder coat brake calipers or should you just use paint

The bleed nipple will be a metric size but could be 7, 8, 9, 10 or 11 mm (though 9mm is unlikely, that's a Vauxhall size) Some Ford hoses can be a pain to get out of the caliper too, as they have the nut up the shank a bit and the shank gets rusty and can snap. Dead hoses like the Puma one in my pic above, I saw the pipe off above the nut and remove the dead stub with a 6 point socket. Use copper grease on the slider pins, nothing else is as good. Whilst you are at it, a smear of copper grease on the hose and bleed nipple threads doesn't go amiss either. And VHT paint on the calipers, I'm pretty sure there are technical difficulties with powder coating them.

Thanks ,the spanner i used for getting the bled nipple out was 9mm so would that mean the bled nipple is 9mm,good job i didnt send the calipers of for powder coating [
