ive got some play in the steering,i tracked it down to the uj in the engine by(it seen better days)
any idea where to get new one or decent second-hand

Dolomite 1300,1980`V`reg in british racing brown(russet),3.63 diff with 21t speedo pinion,95%poly`d,HL clocks,standard wheels with SE covers wrapt in 175 70 13,mot`d 19-09-2014,been off the since 1990,(july2017) stainless steel exhaust 3-piece,(xmas2018) wooden mountney steering wheel,(june2020) new monroe shock(radial front,gas-matic rears) with -1" lower`d springs all round.

This subject of replacing lower steering coupling comes up quite often.
The replica joints are simply rubbish being poor quality and dimensionally incorrect.
If you have an original type, the best option is to fit new bushes from Superflex.
Failing that you can use a T2000 manual steering upper joint (it will probably be necessary to shorten
the intermediate shaft). These and the Superflex bushes are available from Chris Witor.
(You can buy the exact same forged UJ from Ford specialists as an Escort fitment for a great deal more
.)
I have a rebuilt original steering coupling (with new bolts and Superflex) bushes available.
The price is £35 including postage to a UK address for payment by bank transfer, cheque or postal order.
If you really have to use Paypal the price is £45.
