we are running again after wiring checked and related to a faulty wire going to starter motor

anyway when I was checking timing with strobe the tdc mark on pully (with 11 degrees selected as setting) was pointing at second from last tooth on timing guide teeth, I cannot read timing guide as its a bit corroded, is this correct?

I've got one of those Gunson timing lights as well and they are really excellent.
2 teeth away from the end doesn't sound right I'm afraid. That would be around 20 deg of advance. The central slightly longer tooth is the TDC marker and each tooth is then 4 degrees each way of TDC. ( Why 4 degrees I don't know. ) So for the 11 degrees you need the mark to come up slightly to the left of the 3rd marker along from TDC with a standard strobe light or at TDC with 11 degrees set on the dial.
Here is a piccy of my 1850 marks with TDC and 12 degrees BTDC inked in.
The vacuum advance should be disconnected for this test and the RPM need to be down at about 750.
HTH,
Tony.

basically I have set 11 degrees on strobe gun then point at teeth and that's showing red mark I put on pulley at second last tooth, so I need to turn dizzy until I get it between 3rd 4th marker?

Have the strobe on 12 and the tdc mark aligned with the pulley. Or put the strobe on zero and the pulley aligned with the 12 degree mark. The third.
