1500 water temperature sensor
1500 water temperature sensor
Hello all picking up my new car next week a 1978 1500 dolomite. On the test drive the water temp gauge wasn't working. Looking for a new sensor ? Where's the best place to get one ? Thanks

is the fuel gauge working ok - if not is the voltage stabilzer thats at fault, these two gauge require a steady voltage which they get from the voltage stabilzer, as for a sender unit look on ebay for one or James Paddock, Rimmer bros, Robsports.

Not wanting to criticize Rimmer Bros but their temperature sender is a generic one and as such is not suitable for "our" cars. The one Robsport sells is more suited and you can either buy it directly from them or their eBay listing (their eBay user name is numpty9).

Yep the fuel gauge was working. Thanks for the link I had looked at rimmer bros and couldn't find the anything so I'll order one from robsports. Thanks
Re: 1500 water temperature sensor
Mine was the same, and it turns out the gauge was just wired incorrectly. I believe (someone will correct me if I am wrong) that if the gauge is working fine and it is the sender that is at fault you can disconnect the sender wire near the thermostat, and earth it the the frame/engine block. With the ignition on the temp gauge should then go all the way up to hot.
