Gasket issues
Gasket issues
One came from Lincoln and one from e-bay. Guess which one is nothing like the profile of the timing chain cover.

Re: Gasket issues
The last one i had from Lincoln was a stag one instead of a sprint one ( but they did send the correct one in the end )

Re: Gasket issues
Gaskets these days are total rubbish for the most part.
I have sets that go back 30 years and were high quality from people like Halls and Payen. These days most gaskets from wherever they are bought are paper thin and low quality.
I have just had to do a timing and sump job on a 1300 Toledo and used one of my ancient gaskets that were several times thicker than the usual Ebay/other supplied.

Re: Gasket issues
The grey one Jon is much thicker. In Lincoln they make gaskets out of fag paper. The e-bay supplier is the one Martin uses and I have used their full sets before and found them much better. A bit of a lip at times where they are pressed but doesn't seem to affect performance.
