Sun visors colour

#1 Post by georgethompson730 »

I have e recently replaced my headlining, which has thrown up a sun visor issue. The new headlining is not original, such that the sun visor white side no longer looks right against it. Can you get visors that are black both sides? I think this would look better. Recovering what I have is costly, so looking for other options. Thanks.

I have one of those camera in the mirror things that's bigger than original. I was looking at dark tinted perspex for making new sunvisors from. I've seen plenty of classic cars with them and they look in position enough for our cars in my opinion.

How about painting the sunvisors to match, apparently vinyl silk is the stuff?

I opted to the standard BL material, so getting more would not be a problem. The trimmer who did the headlining said he could do them, but at the time it seemed slot of money, whish I had got it done now.
GTS290N I've already painted the white side black, but it looks awful, so something else needs to be done. Just wondered if there was a original black both sides visor?

Early sprint had white / white sun visors - late ones like mine have white on one side and black on the other - see attached for details on a early sprint- courtsey of MikeyB.

Vinyl silk applied with a soft mini-roller seems to be the way to go, it covers the yellow glue marks that all Triumph headlinings suffer from. I remember these on headlinings when the cars were virtually new.
