Hello all,

About a month ago I bought my first Sprint after having sold a Mk1 Cortina GT I had for about 8 years (I wanted something faster but that I could still get the family in!). I have now joined the club and this is my first post here.

The car (XJX 696R) is probably familiar to some of you on here as it was restored by Mad Mart and the restoration thread on this very forum were extremely helpful in making my mind up to buy it!

I was going to post a photo but can't seem to do that from my photo library - as I'm a bloke, if all else fails I'll have to read the instructions ...

Welcome to the madhouse! It's best to use a photo hosting site such as Photobucket or Flickr to post pics. there are some helpful hints on this in a thread at the top of this section.

Welcome to the forum Steve. You've got a good one there that should give you many years of good service and best of all it is ready to go out of the box (so to speak). It would cost you more to restore a Sprint to that standard and the restoration has been well documented on this forum. There's a resto thread that was done by a previous owner before Mart (it is HERE). Don't forget to join the Club. It is worth every penny of the membership fee.

Thanks very much chaps - and yes I have also joined the club. And as my Mk1 Cortina club membership runs until November I shall be well informed on British classic saloons this year!
