bike engine?

Does anyone know of a big bike engined Dolomite? Hopefully I'll be happy with the power from my fast 1500 engine that's nearing completion but if not then another Sprint knockoff is too samey. How about a torquey bmw bike engine?

A friend of ours has just bought a 2.3 litre Triumph Rocket motorbike. With a straight-through exhaust it's now producing around 135bhp - hmm, just like the Sprint was designed to do with 2 litres Could be an interesting installation into a Dolomite.

All depends on the torque, and power combination, I keep debating shoving a Triumph 1200 Trophy engine into a FWD. 110hp, 60ft.ld of torque, 5, or 6 speed box, probably 100kg lighter.......

Depends if you can put up with the revs needed to achieve the power numbers. I'd think the revs would be north of 4k most of the time and below that there wont be much torque at all.

Yes but that means not a lot of torque in the car engine range. Its fine if you like rpm noise all the time but personally I'd find it tiresome. I had a zzr 600 new back in the day as I couldnt afford an 1100 and although it was 11 second quarter mile and 155mph I grew tired of the constant changing down to accelerate. I suspect a car with "our" weight would take some revving to keep it moving. The rocket 2.3 engine is large enough to be a car engine too

Dolomite is far too heavy for a bike engine, plus it'd have no torque. Seems like a waste of a good bike engine and a good Dolomite.

I agree, as what on earth would you want a car that had to be rowed along by its gearbox instead of a prod of the accelerator?
These engines work well in kit cars that have half the weight of a Dolomite but even then have to change down all the time to increase speed.
I would rather have more torque than BHP and most cars seem to work best with similar level of torque to BHP.
